Week 12 Journal
The weeks topics studied suggest self-reliance “which
is the ability, commitment, and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal
necessities of life for self and family”
To Professor Yunus credit plays an important role in
the lives of poor people and therefore he suggest that credit should be
accepted as a human right. Credit opens up the locked in potential of human
beings. The purpose of this week readings are to help us become better able to
serve the Lord and care for others. Opportunity is what we all needed.
In sharing a response to a specific reading, video,
or activity in this week’s content, what did spark my interest is some of Yunus
statements that all human beings are creative beings each human being has great
potential buried in him or her. We all have not paid attention to this creative
aspect of human beings. All human beings are endowed with unlimited potential,
because of barriers created by our societies, individual people never get the
full opportunity to bring out their potential. An individual’s social
consciousness and the urge to do good things for people on this planet can be
as burning and even a more burning desire than personal gain.
In reflecting on my own personal development as regards
to self-reliance, everything is being done possible with the help of my Father
in Heaven to be self-reliant. The first is seeking education as I am doing, and
doing my possible best to expand my business which I have started and be
obedient to the Lords commandments.
